The Cooperative Development Authority – Region I Extension Office (CDA RI – EO) started conducting various virtual and face-to-face initiatives and activities in celebration of the 2022 Cooperative Month, which will run from October 1 up to 31, 2022.
With the theme KooPinas: Nagkakaisang Lakas para sa Makabuluhan at Sama-samang Pag-unlad!”, the agency encouraged the field offices to participate in the region-based events and conduct localized programs and activities supporting the celebration.
The CDA began posting the Calendar of Activities throughout the week, as well as releasing a series of photos and videos to amplify the messaging and purpose of the celebration’s theme.
Moreover, the CDA, in consultation and collaboration with cooperative development councils, cooperative development officers, national and local federations and unions of cooperatives, and other government agencies, shall conduct activities and programs, either virtual or onsite, that promote cooperative principles and values and encourage cooperative movement.
The aforementioned celebration is mandated by Republic Act No. 11502 s. 2020, titled declaring the month of October as “National Cooperative Month.” (by Jas Ferrer)
