The Cooperative Development Authority Regional Office I (CDA ROI) conducts its Koop-Balitaan every Friday through the assistance of the Tulong Balita online, our media partner located in the City of Dagupan. The Koop-Balitaan intends to continuously disseminate and provide the latest information and updates concerning the issuances, regulations, and developmental programs of the Authority. Likewise, this is also an avenue to feature our various partners’ programs and services in cooperative development and other capacity-building programs to guide the cooperatives, partners, and other stakeholders. On January 15, 2021, the CDA ROI highlighted the programs and services of three (3) National Government Agencies (NGAs), namely, the Department of Trade Industry (DTI), Department of Social Welfare & Development (DSWD), and the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR).
The first resource speaker was the BIR representative and tackled RMC No. 124-2020, which is the Tax Exemption of Cooperatives. Some of the topics discussed were the following: requirements in securing a Certificate of Tax Exemption both for new applicants and for renewal; obligations of cooperatives with duly issued CTEs; how will the cooperative secure TIN for its active members; who are considered inactive members & others related to tax privileges. The DTI programs and services were presented and discussed briefly by the Assistant Regional Director of the said agency. And lastly, the representative from DSWD presented the various programs they offer. A total of 138 participants in the Zoom room and viewers in the Tulong Balita online Facebook page.
