Pozorrubio, Pangasinan – Led by the Credit Surety Fund Section, in partnership with the Credit Surety Fund Service of the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) Head Office and with the support of the Cooperative Development Office (CDO) of the Municipality of Pozorrubio, the Orientation on the Financial Consumer Protection Act and Other Related Issuances was successfully conducted.

The objective of this activity is to enhance the awareness of cooperatives and their members regarding their rights as consumers of financial products and services. By gaining in-depth knowledge of the law and regulations, cooperatives can ensure that their operations are fair, secure, and focused on the welfare of their clients.

In addition, the Cooperative Local Assistance and Support Program was also conducted to assist cooperatives in submitting their mandatory reports to the CDA. This program is part of the agency’s efforts to strengthen compliance among cooperatives and ensure their operations adhere to established regulations.

With over 30 participants from nine cooperatives in Pozorrubio, Pangasinan, the orientation proved to be insightful and successful. This initiative highlights the continued collaboration between government agencies and the cooperative sector to develop, protect, and strengthen the relationship between cooperatives and their consumers.
