The Cooperative Development Authority recently launched and implemented a new system on Cooperative Systems Project on EcoopRIS and Cooperative Assessment Information System (CAIS). The mentioned system aims to streamline and upgrade mandatory report submission while also providing efficient and hassle-free processing and issuance of COC to cooperatives. Several virtual orientations on the use of the new system on the submission of mandatory reports were conducted, however almost all cooperatives were still having difficulty using the system.
Instead of mentoring/coaching the cooperatives individually in our respective areas, Team Pangasinan believed in the saying “Alone we can do little, together we can do so much.” Weary and exhausted over the deadline of online submission of reports, we immediately agreed to pilot the conduct of a Caravan on the Hands-On Orientation of E-COOPRIS and CAIS in 5 municipalities in the province. The team was assisted by the supportive Chief of the Registration, Ms. Filipina H. Porio, Acting Chief of SES, Ms. Arlenne C. Espinosa and CDS II, Mr. Von Calpito.
Despite the challenges posed by the slow to no signal situation in theareas concerned, the results were convincing, as we were able to assist in the creation of accounts for 60 cooperatives in E-COOPRIS and CAIS in the following municipalities in 5 days:
1. April 19, 2022 – Alcala – 20 cooperatives
2. April 25, 2022 – Bayambang – 7 cooperatives
3. April 26, 2022 – Sual – 7 cooperatives
4. April 27, 2022 – Bolinao – 16 cooperatives
5. April 28, 2022 – Mangatarem – 10 cooperatives
Some of these cooperatives have already submitted all their reports and were issued Certificate of Compliance. Going together is always a wise option, thus, thus the team intends to continue the activity in places where cooperative compliance is minimal or non-existent. (by Mylene M. Mazo, CDS II)
