The CDA, as mandated by Republic Act No. 11364, ensures the development of cooperatives into a viable, competitive, and sustainable economic enterprise. Partnership and coordinative efforts with successful cooperatives through the KOOP KAPATID (Big Brother Small Brother) Program and applying the Internationally Accepted Principle of Cooperation among Cooperatives is an essential approach to provide development interventions and technical assistance to the cooperatives.
A Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) was signed on June 13, 2019 by Gledco Multipurpose Cooperative represented by its Chairperson Enrico A. Aurelio, as the big brother cooperative, Baggak Ti Daya Development Cooperative (BATDDECO) represented by its Chairperson, Madelyn Sadang, as the small brother cooperative, and the Cooperative Development Authority R1 represented by, Dr. Josefina B. Bitonio, Regional Director, to ensure the smooth implementation of the” KOOP KAPATID (Big Brother Small Brother) Program.
The Gledco MPC partnership unselfishly lend a helping hand to Baggak Ti Daya Development Cooperative (BATDDECO) by providing training and capacity-building activities to officers and members and conducting consultation/ dialogue with the cooperative to hear their needs, provided skills development trainings, mentoring and consultancy services. The Gledco MPC also provided financial assistance to support the micro-enterprise to increase member’s income. Assistance provided in preparing mandatory reports required by the CDA resulted in the submission of mandatory reports.
With the KOOP KAPATID (Big Brother Small Brother) Program, the continuous assistance of the big brother cooperative, the sustainability, growth, and development of the small Brother Cooperative is ensured. (ROSIEVIC R. MEDINA-CDS II).
