“Nurturing Nature: The Cooperative’s Commitment to Coconut Tree Planting”

On October 11, 2024, the vibrant community of cooperatives from the 5th and 6th Congressional Districts of Pangasinan came together for an inspiring tree planting activity in Barangay Unzad, Villasis, Pangasinan. This event was more than just an environmental effort; it symbolized unity and a shared commitment to nurturing nature. As part of the 2024 Cooperative Month Celebration this October, with the theme “Cooperatives: Stronger Together Today for a Brighter Tomorrow,” this activity truly encapsulated the spirit of the occasion.

The event, initiated by CDS II Mylene M. Mazo of the Cooperative Development Authority, Region 1, saw 48 cooperatives come together, with a total of 236 cooperative officers and members planting 239 coconut trees. The trees were generously donated by Chairman of Abono Partylist, Engr. Rosendo O. So, who also provided snacks and T-shirts to the participants, adding to the camaraderie and spirit of the event. Despite the road and planting area being muddy from the rain the night before, everyone enjoyed themselves and took part with enthusiasm.

This activity stands as a testament to the dedication of the community and cooperatives towards environmental sustainability and community outreach. Every seedling planted represents a future of green growth and a collective commitment to our environment. The success of this endeavor is a clear reflection of our unity and shared goal of nurturing nature for future generations.
