SUCCESSFUL CLAP MOA SIGNING CEREMONY BETWEEN CDA AND UNP

The Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) and University of Northern Philippines (UNP) forged a new partnership to intensify their collaboration in promoting cooperativism and raising awareness of the laws and rules and regulations concerning cooperatives and the CDA. The Cooperative Laws Awareness Program (CLAP) MOA Signing ceremony between CDA represented by CDA Chairman USec. Alexander Raquepo and UNP represented by Pres. Dr. Erwin Cardona was held on May 6, 2025 at the UNP Campus, Vigan, Ilocos Sur.

The CLAP is pursuant to the mandate of the CDA under RA 11364 to establish linkages with the academe and other institutions, local and international, for education, training and research for cooperatives, which is paramount in the promotion of the viability and growth of cooperatives as instruments of equity, social justice and sustainable economic development. Through this program, the CDA aims to massively promote RA No. 11364, otherwise known as the Cooperative Development Authority Charter of 2019, RA 9520 or the Cooperative Code of 2008 and their respective Implementing Rules and regulations, to law students through the law schools; provide enabling environment for the law students to appreciate the concepts, principles and application of cooperativism; and, on-the-job training opportunity for law students with the chosen registered cooperative  in the regions.
