The entire workforce of the Cooperative Development Authority Regional Office 11 was overwhelmingly thankful and overjoyed on a sunny day of March 17, 2023 for the Inauguration of their new office building. After 33 years of existence as a government agency, they will finally have their own building they can call their own. The new office location is at SPMC Compound, Friendship Road, Bajada, Buhangin District, Davao City.
The celebration started with the blessing of the office building by Rev. Fr. Ranebe Magallanes, who prayed and poured oil of blessing in every corner of each room in all its three-storey levels. The unveiling of the office’s marker followed as initiated by the CDA Chairman, Undersecretary Joseph B. Encabo together with his BOD Members, Assistant Secretaries Abdulsalam A. Guinomla, Pendatun B. Disimban and Abad Santos. They were joined by the Davao City Mayor representative Councilor Jessica M. Bonguyan and Cooperative Development and People’s Participation Committee Chairman, Councilor Jonard C. Dayap and the representatives from the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
A short program followed with brief congratulatory messages from the guests including the Cooperative Development Officers in the City and Provinces of Davao Region, representatives of Millionaire Cooperatives in Davao Region such as Tagum Cooperative, SAMULCO, BCS MPC, USPD, King Cooperative, MAGSIGE MPC and Silangan MPC. CDA Davao Regional Director Ruben L. Cunanan introduced the Guest Speaker, USec. Joseph B. Encabo, who extended his wholehearted gratitude to the representatives of Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC), DPWH and COOP-NATCCO, for making it possible for CDA to transfer and construct its own building.
A sumptuous lunch followed for everyone to enjoy the bountiful blessings set on that day and mostly, the celebration of pride and joy for all the staff of CDA Davao to finally serve the cooperative sector and all the stakeholders, in its own abode. (Maria Theresa B. Dave, Sr. CDS)
