DAVAO CITY – On 26 January 2024, the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) Regional Office XI led by Regional Director Glenn S. Garcia and assisted by Atty. Earl D.F. Larroder and CDS II Jed Harvey A. Vertucio signed the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on the Training of Trainers (TOT) Partnership with the Ateneo de Davao University (ADDU).
As for the Ateneo side, the University President Fr. Karel S. San Juan, S.J. was represented by the university’s Executive Vice President Jeremy S. Eliab, assisted by Assistant Student Affairs Director Atty. Ira Calatrava-Valenzuela, and Ateneo Academy of Lifelong Learning (ADD-ALL) Officer-in-Charge Hannah Grace Cang-Rombines.
This partnership is aimed at allowing ADDU through ADD-ALL to offer TOT as an additional program to the short courses they offer.
The TOT is a training program required to be undertaken by registering Cooperative Training Providers (CTPRO) before they are accredited by CDA. Per MC 2023-11, CTPROs must undergo at least 24 hours of TOT and receive a certificate of completion, to be submitted as part of their documentary requirements thereafter.
With this newly forged partnership, CTPROs all over Region XI or other regions in the country may now tap the services of ADDU for their needed TOT requirement.
Both Director Garcia and Executive Vice President Eliab are equally excited and positively anticipating a productive and meaningful partnership ahead for the benefit of cooperatives and training providers.
