DAVAO CITY – On 29 August 2023, Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) Chairman and Undersecretary Joseph Encabo, assisted by CDA Regional Office XI Director Glenn Garcia and Legal Section Chief Atty. Earl Larroder, led the ceremonial signing of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between CDA and Rizal Memorial College (RMC) College of Law on Cooperative Law Awareness Program (CLAP).

RMC, on the other hand was represented by the Dean of the College of Law Atty. Ramon Edison Batacan, Director for Legal Aid Atty. Philip John Pojas, and the Associate Dean for Internal Affairs and Student Discipline Atty. Joanne Marie Coma.

CLAP is a program under CDA’s Legal Division which aims to institutionalize partnerships with law schools in the Philippines to educate law student practitioners on the procedural aspects of the CDA Charter of 2019; conduct information or training sessions to apprise cooperative officers and members on their legal rights, responsibilities, and remedies; and render legal services to cooperatives covering pre-registration, registration, compliance, and dispute resolution. /jav
