Last May 21, 2024, the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) of Koop Kapatid Program in Mati City, Davao Oriental. The Big Brother Cooperative is Davao Oriental State College of Science and Technology Multi-Purpose Cooperative (DOSCST MPC) represented by the Chairperson Dr. Edito B. Sumile, also an Acting Head of Provincial Agriculturist Office. The Small Brother Cooperatives are Don Martin Marundan Farmers Producers Cooperative represented by the Chairperson, Mr. Edgardo I. Delaguas and the other one is Lawigan United Fishermen Cooperative represented also by the Chairperson Mr. Renato B. Lorenzo. It was witnessed by Regional Director Glenn S. Garcia with the presence of no less than the CDA Chairman, Usec Joseph B. Encabo and BOD Member, Asec Myrla B. Paradillo.
DOSCST MPC committed to extend assistance by giving trainings to the bookkeepers of the small brother cooperatives, pay their external auditors and to purchase their fruits, vegetable and fish products.
Asec Paradillo told the small brother cooperatives that they should not stay being micro cooperatives only and through this Koop Kapatid program, it will help other smaller cooperatives to become bigger ones. Micro and Small Cooperatives who receive help today will be the ones to give help tomorrow.
CDA extend its gratitude to Gov. Nino Uy for finally realizing this activity, the Provincial Cooperative Office headed by Rosafel C. Batingana and her staff for organizing the event, to Mr. Pacifico V. Castillones, the Cooperative Consultant who always selflessly shares his expertise and to Mr. Amado IV Francisquete, the City Cooperative Development Officer of Mati, who has always been an active partner In cooperative development.
