The Region XI Cooperative Development Council (RCDC XI), in close coordination with the Cooperative Development Authority – Davao Regional Office XI (CDA RXI) and the Regional League of Cooperative Development Officers (RLCDOP), held a Capability Enhancement Webinar for Cooperative Development Officers (CDOs) last January 6-8, 2021 via Zoom meeting every 10am to 12NN for the 3-day affair.

The activity started with the Welcome Remarks from Regional Director of CDA XI, Ms. Elma R. Oguis. The Rationale of the Activity was given by the Chairperson of RCDC XI and currently the Chairperson of NCDC, Engr. Felix L. Tabasa. There were more than 30 CDOs who participated in the 3-day webinar. The host of the event, Ms. Maria Theresa B. Dave acknowledged the participants and gave the house rules for the webinar.

The topic for Day 1 was Cooperative Laws and other Related Legal Issues (RA 9520, RA 6939, RA 11364 and its IRRs and RA 7160) by Mr. Antonio C. Escobar, Supervising CDS of CDA XI. After his presentation, an Open Forum followed.

Day 2 topic was Roles of Cooperative Development Officers In Their Respective Local Government Units (LGUs) by Engr. Felix L. Tabasa, NCDC Chairperson. Open Forum followed after his presentation.

Legal Officer of CDA XI, Atty. Andrea G. Tan was the resource person during the Day 3 Topic on CDA Issued Memorandum Circulars and Related Updates. Thereafter, Open Forum followed.

After the discussion of issues and concerns, Election of Officers for RLCDOP followed. Immediately, the Oath-Taking Ceremony both for RLCDOP and RCDC XI Newly-Elected Officers for FY 2021 was conducted. Atty. Tan was the administering officer for the newly-installed officers. The newly elected RLCDOP officers are the following: Chairperson: Rev. Antonio S. Alastra (CCDO-Tagum City); Vice-Chairperson: Engr. Humber D. Cabunoc (PCDO-Davao del Norte); Secretary: Ms. Luzminda C. Eblamo (CCDO-Davao City); Treasurer: Jennifer C. Remoreras (CCDO-IGACOS) and Auditor: Mr. Rotchie P. Ravelo (PCDO-Davao Oriental).

Engr. Humber D. Cabunoc, Vice-Chairperson of RCDC XI and RLCDOP delivered the Closing Remarks, thankful for the active support and participation of the CDOs in the region.
