DAVAO CITY-The Legal Unit of the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) Region 11 Extension Office through Mr. Paul Ryan S. Simbajon, Cooperative Development Specialist II and designated Dialogue facilitator, was able to successfully settle a dispute among the former and incumbent Board of Directors of a cooperative from New Corella, Davao del Norte through the Dialogue proceeding of the Authority under Rule III of its CDA Omnibus Rules of Procedures.

The Dialogue proceeding allows complainants and respondents of a case to settle disputes outside of court as part of the means allowed by the Alternative Dispute Resolution Act of 2004, wherein a Dialogue facilitator tries to impartially mediate the conflict to reach a settlement agreement which is subsequently signed by both parties.

The said successfully Dialogue proceeding was held at the CDA Hearing Room, CDA Building, Dumanlas, Davao City on February 21, 2024. The CDA Dialogue is an informal, non-litigious/non-adversarial, inexpensive, and expeditious settlement of a dispute or conflict. The parties are allowed to fully ventilate their respective positions without regard to extreme legal technicalities and with a broader latitude of possible approaches to resolving the problem.
