CDA 12 ACCOMPLISHMENTS HIGHLIGHTED ON THE 27TH EPISODE OF “KAPIHAN SA BAGONG PILIPINAS”

On Tuesday, December 3, 2024, Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) Region 12 featured its programs, policies, and accomplishments highlighted on the 27th episode of “Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas”. A program initiated by the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) Region 12 in coordination with the Presidential Communications Office (PCO), through a series of synchronized, region-wide events broadcasted across various multimedia platforms and attended by local press. Highlighting the featured agency’s accomplishments based on its mandates and enhancing public engagement consistent with the mandate of the administration’s “Bagong Pilipinas” governance philosophy and leadership agenda.

During the one-hour, live-streamed interview, Acting Regional Director Juriski B. Mangelen highlighted the state of cooperatives in Region 12, the achievements, priority projects, and ways forward of the authority. She also emphasized the key functions of the authority, the developmental, regulatory, and quasi-judicial services. CDA also conducts pre-registration seminars and helps organizations or associations to become cooperatives. To strengthen the capacity of the members of the cooperatives in the region, she also stated that CDA conducts mandatory training, and other various trainings such as Basic Accounting for Non-Accountants or BANA, Bookkeeping, and Parliamentary procedures to equip the members and officers of the cooperatives with the knowledge and skills necessary for their operation.

In closing, Acting RD Mangelen emphasized that the ultimate goal of CDA is to help cooperatives become more prosperous. Mangelen said that CDA continues to strengthen and support the cooperatives in the region to make them more progressive. “Gusto po talaga natin na maging viable at maging mas maunlad ang ating mga kooperatiba dito sa Soccsksargen sa mga susunod na buwan at taon,” added Mangelen.

The CDA reports that there are 1,697 cooperatives spread over the region and the most number of cooperatives come from Cotabato province.
