CDA EO XII CONDUCTS START-UP TRAINING COURSE FOR CREDIT SURETY FUND COOPERATIVES IN REGION XII

On September 30 – October 1, 2024, Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) XII, headed by the Acting Regional Director, Juriski B. Mangelen, together with Acting Supervising CDS, Mark Ian G. Caseres, recently conducted a comprehensive start-up training for Credit Surety Fund (CSF) cooperatives. The event took place at the City Economic Management & Cooperative Development Office (CEMCDO) in General Santos City.

Participants included members from the General Santos City CSF Coops, Sarangani CSF Coops, and South Cotabato CSF Coops, all eager to enhance their knowledge and skills.

The training was facilitated by esteemed resource persons from the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) Central Office: Mr. Recto E. Transfiguracion, Chief CDS of Technical Assistance Division, and Ms. Jo Ann C. Gamboa, Division Chief, CSF Inspection and Examination Division.  Their expertise provided valuable insights into the CSF program.

Attendees were educated on the essential procedures for initiating and efficiently managing their operations as CSF Cooperatives. The training covered a comprehensive orientation on the rationale and background of the CSF Program, including vital concepts related to surety operations. Participants also received guidance on the basic governance requirements for CSF Cooperatives and an overview of the various procedures involved in CSF operations.

Overall, the training aimed to empower cooperative members with the knowledge and tools necessary to thrive within their respective CSF frameworks, ensuring sustainable growth and effective collaboration within the cooperative sector.
