CDA EO-XII Empowers Coconut Farmer Coops through Strategic Planning and Parliamentary Procedure Training
The Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) Extension Office XII has empowered the coconut farmer cooperatives in the region by conducting Training on Strategic Planning and Parliamentary Procedure at the Sun City Suites, General Santos City on October 22-23, 2024.
As part of implementing the Coconut Farmers and Industry Development Plan (CFIDP) and its partnership with the Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA), the CDA recently conducted training sessions on strategic planning and parliamentary procedures.
CDA aims to empower coconut farmers’ cooperatives to become more resilient, sustainable, and competitive through these initiatives. By strengthening their governance and management practices, cooperatives can better serve their members and contribute to the overall growth of the coconut industry.
In addition, the conduct of strategic planning training has equipped the cooperative leaders with the tools and knowledge to develop comprehensive plans for their organizations. By understanding the importance of setting clear goals, analyzing their strengths and weaknesses, and identifying opportunities and threats, cooperatives can make informed decisions and allocate resources effectively.
Finally, the Parliamentary Procedures Training focused on enhancing the decision-making processes within cooperatives. By learning the rules and protocols of conducting meetings, cooperatives can ensure that discussions are fair, transparent, and efficient. This will lead to more informed and collaborative decision-making, ultimately benefiting all members.
