CDA XII conducts PRS to Rebel Returnees
The Cooperative Development Authority has conducted a Pre-Registration Seminar (PRS) to nineteen (19) rebel returnees in Sitio Siok, Barangay Maligaya, Koronadal City on January 8, 2025.
The seminar aimed to introduce the concept of cooperatives and prepare participants for the registration process, enabling them to access resources and support from various government programs.
These individuals were former rebels who have decided to work together with the government and its community.
The seminar began with a welcome address by the personnel from the City Cooperative Development Office (CCDO) of Koronadal City and introduction and seminar proper by the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) Region XII – Kidapawan Extension Office personnel, Mr. Adrian C. Carillo, CDS II. The seminar included an informative session on the cooperative values, principles, powers and responsibilities.
Acting Regional Director of CDA RXII, Juriski B. Mangelen, graced the seminar, offering words of encouragement to the participants. She highlighted the role of cooperatives in fostering economic independence and self-sufficiency. Moreover, representatives from the Department of Agriculture (DA) Region XII, in person of Mr. Rodrigo S. Guillermo Jr., DA ELCAC Focal Person and Ret. BGen. Celestino F. Desamito, Jr. Vice Chairman of PRLEC-ELCAC also contributed to the seminar, underscoring the importance of inter-agency collaboration ensuring the success of reintegration programs.
The organizing cooperative’s PRS was a success, with active participation and positive feedback from the attendees. The collaborative efforts of the CDA, CCDO, DA, and NTF ELCAC have laid the groundwork for helping former rebel transition to a more productive and peaceful life through the cooperative model.
