Agila Cooperative Gets ₱400K Boost, Eyes Lending and Water Services

On June 23, CDA Administrator Asec. Santiago S. Lim visited the Agila Agriculture Cooperative in Socorro, Surigao del Norte. The cooperative received ₱400,000 in start-up funds through the CMPL program. With 33 active members, the group is planning to grow and offer lending and water services to help the more than 4,000 people living in Sitio Kapihan.

Asec. Lim was joined by the Cooperative Development Specialist from Siargao, who will continue to guide the cooperative. He also promised to ask the CDA Regional Extension Office XIII to give more help, especially in improving their rules, growing their membership, and creating a better business plan.

This visit shows CDA’s strong support for far-away and underdeveloped communities, helping cooperatives grow and bring inclusive, lasting progress.
