Last July 3, 2024, Assistant Secretary Santiago S. Lim together with Regional Director Monatao Honeya R. Alawi visited one of the Top Performer Cooperative in Butuan City – the Butuan Agusan Farmers Multipurpose Cooperative (BAFMPC) formerly known as LADAMA. The CDA Personnel were welcomed by the Board of Directors and staff of the said cooperative.

Asec. Lim had a short meeting with the cooperators, his agenda is to have ideas on the grassroots scenarios in the field and be able to share different best practices to all regions. He was impressed by the products and services offered to the members and acknowledge that the cooperative was able to serve the real and felt need of the members from farm planting, harvesting and selling of rice. As an experienced businessman, he also advised the cooperative to innovate such as coordination with convenient stores or using the online platforms.

The cooperative also proudly showed the vicinity of their area and the current technologies they operate. Indeed, BAFMPC has still lot to offer to its members and its community. A model cooperative that despite the challenges of time, their cooperative withstands it all thru- cooperativism!
