Bislig City proudly marks another successful year for its cooperatives, commemorating the Cooperative Month 2023 with a series of vibrant and engaging events. The city has consistently demonstrated a strong commitment to fostering a spirit of cooperativism, which has become deeply ingrained in its cultural fabric. Spearheaded by the City Cooperative Development Office (CCDO) and the City Cooperative Development Council (CCDC), this year’s celebration was a testament to the enduring partnership between the city government and the cooperative sectors.

The festivities kicked off on October 2, 2023, with a solidarity photo-op at the Bislig City Cultural and Sport Center, followed by a spirited motorcade. From October 11 to 13, 2023, the 4th Regional Cooperative Congress in Surigao City saw active participation from nine cooperatives in Bislig City, along with the dedicated personnel of CCDO.

Undeterred in their efforts, the cooperatives further demonstrated their commitment to community welfare by organizing a Coastal Clean-up at Bislig Bayfront on October 14, 2023, showcasing their dedication to environmental stewardship. Simultaneously, the 7th KooPalakasan was held at the Bislig VI District Event Center, focusing on enhancing the well-being of cooperative members through a range of dynamic activities that promoted unity and camaraderie.

The pinnacle of the Cooperative Month was the grand culmination program, which served as a platform to honor and acknowledge the outstanding contributions of the participating cooperatives and individuals who have significantly advanced the cooperative movement in Bislig City.
