CDA Caraga Forges MOA with CITCI: the first in Caraga

Cabrera, CDS II Last January 25, 2024 a historic feat transpired between the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) Caraga and the Candelaria Institute of Technology of Cabadbaran Inc (CITCI). It was the first ever Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing of the authority between an academe that was held at in CITCI AVR room, Cabadbaran City, Agusan del Norte.

CDA MOA signing between an academe, SUCs or private, is a strategy program of the authority as it recognizes the role of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) whether public or private and that they are guided by philosophical orientations that put primacy on pursuit and formation of knowledge, skills and values and attitudes necessary to make the Filipino a productive member of the society.

The ceremony started with a prayer led by Sister Gemma Bueno, followed by the singing of the National Anthem. The School President of CITCI, Rev. Fr. Marlon A. Lacal, gave a welcome message emphasizing that the MOA signing is just the beginning of a timely partnership towards helping the cooperatives sector in the whole Caraga.

The CDA Caraga Regional Director, Monatao Honeya R. Alawi, delivered her message in which she highlighted that the recent MOA signing marked a historic milestone for the entire Caraga region. She expressed gratitude and excitement for the collaborative partnership, emphasizing its significance.

Rev. Msgr. Porfirio C. Colon Jr, the Diocese of Butuan Superintendent, also gave a heartfelt message,stressed that the recent development is a realization of a long-held dream. He sees it as a valuable opportunity for the cooperatives and for their students to gain insights into cooperative practices. He believes that this experience will serve as a catalyst for the students’ future roles as cooperative leaders.

Atty Albert G. Cong, the Legal City Officer, gave closing remarks. He is proud to notarize the said MOA signing and be part of this momentous event which according to him, is the beginning of everything.

The signing ceremony was also attended by the faculties, staff, and students CITCI, the City Cooperative Development Officer, Engr. Louiel C. Bulang, along with the manager of Candelaria Multipurpose Cooperative, Ms. Patricita Dela Calzada and concluded with a Photo Opportunity.
