CFIDP Empowers Coconut Farmers with Entrepreneurial Training and Values Re-orientation

The training was attended by twenty-five (25) Coconut Farmers Cooperatives (CFCs) with a total of sixty-five (65) participants for the Province of Surigao del Norte and Province of Dinagat Islands gathered together for a 3-day Entrepreneurial and Business Development Training and Cooperative Values and Principles Re-Orientation for Coconut Farmers Cooperative (CFCs). This training is highly relevant to CFCs to strengthen their operational capacity, financial sustainability and overall impact to members and community.

The occasion was graced by no less than Assistant Secretary of Cooperative Development Authority, a Board Member III, Asec. Luz H. Yringco. She shared her outmost appreciation for the Cooperatives Officers on giving their time, effort and dedication to gain learning for them to be more effective and efficient in their cooperative service. She further emphasized that coming together as a team brings prosperity and success to the cooperative.

The first topic was facilitated by Mr. Leopoldo B. Cabiad a former Sr. CDS in CPDAS of Cooperative Development Authority, discussing regarding the Values and Principles of Cooperative. He emphasized the importance of undertaking the Cooperative Identity. Every member of cooperative has to deeply understand the meaning of a cooperative and the values impact. He stressed clearly a deeper understanding of cooperative principles and values which is crucial for maintaining transparency, accountability and democratic participation.  

These cooperative principles and values play a fundamental role in shaping the success and sustainability of a cooperative.  When a cooperative adheres to strong principles it fosters a sense of trust and accountability among its members ensuring that everyone has voice and stake in the outcome. The cooperative values not only influence internal operations but also define the cooperative relationship with the community and its commitment to social and economic responsibility. By prioritizing these values, a cooperative can maintain a positive reputation, inspire loyalty, and achieve long term success while benefitting both its members and the wider society.

The second topic is all about on entrepreneurial and business development highlights the importance of equipping aspiring and existing entrepreneurs with the necessary skills, knowledge, and tools to start, manage, and grow successful businesses. It emphasizes how such training programs foster innovation, improve strategic decision-making, and enhance financial literacy. These programs often cover critical areas like business planning, marketing, funding strategies, and digital transformation, enabling participants to adapt to dynamic market demands. Additionally, the   impact of entrepreneurship training on economic growth, job creation, and community empowerment, especially in emerging markets. Ultimately, entrepreneurial and business development training serves as a catalyst for inclusive growth, resilience, and long-term social transformation.
