On February 28 to March 2, 2022, thirty-seven (37) CDA Caraga Personnel attended the 3-day Cybersecurity Training at The Pavilion @ Watergate, Avenida Watergate, J. Rosales Avenue, Butuan City. This was spearheaded by MIS Unit in coordination with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT-Caraga).
The 3-day training was conducted in line with the digitization plan of the authority and also, for the personnel, to help them be aware of the cyberworld as to how it works, and how it could personally affect each personnel both positively and negatively.
Acting Regional Director, Sally Joy R. Bungabong and Usec. Alan A. Silor of DICT gave messages, expressing their full support when it comes to CDA-DICT partnership.
Mr. Bret John D. Morales, Planning Officer of DICT Region 10 was the resource person of the 3-day training. His clear presentation and sharing of real-life based experiences made the training a very engaging one. First day topics included: common cyber threats, fake news, effects of social media, account security which are essential for cybersecurity discussions. On the second day, his lecture revolved around data privacy act, cyber risk management, technical protection measures, etc. that had more impact to the management when it comes to protecting IT assets against anyone who has malicious intentions.
There were a lot of vital information being shared on this training which CDA Caraga personnel benefited. At the end of the training, Certificate of Completion were given to all participants who made it through up to the 3rd day. The certificates were given by Engr. Lawrence Salang, Chief for Technical Operations Division of DICT, assisted by Acting RD Sally Joy R. Bungabong. Then, Mr. Salang delivered his closing remarks expressing his appreciation to the Authority for reaching out to DICT and facilitating the conduct of this Cybersecurity Training.
