Empowering Cooperative Bookkeepers with Basic Accounting Skills Training

The Butuan City Cooperative Development Office (CCDO) led by Kiesha Glaze N. Guimare, in collaboration with the City Cooperative Development Council (CCDC),  organized a two-day Training Workshop on Basic Accounting for Non-Accountants. The event took place at the Watergate Hotel Function Hall-C in Butuan City on May 29-30, 2023

Ms. Gezzel B. Quiao, CSF-CDS II of the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA), served as the resource person, providing valuable insights into the fundamentals of accounting. The training was attended by 31 participants from various cooperatives in Butuan City, all of whom completed the program and received certificates of participation.

The CDA Team of Women Power for Butuan City, comprising CDS II Shema Michal G. Lubrio, CDS II  Iriz Jane C. Cutimar, and CDS II  Anna Danica B. Cuadrasal from CDA-Regional Office, expressed their gratitude for the enthusiastic participation of the cooperatives in the skills training. They recognized the vital role that bookkeepers play in the advancement of their organizations, and thus accorded them special attention through this workshop.

Regional Director Monatao Honeya R. Alawi also extended appreciation for the collaborative efforts between the city’s local government and the cooperative movement. Their continuous support has been instrumental in driving the progress of the cooperative sector.

The conduct and completion of the Training Workshop on Basic Accounting for Non-Accountants marks a significant milestone in empowering cooperative bookkeepers with essential accounting skills. By enhancing their knowledge in this area, these individuals are now better equipped to contribute to the growth and success of their respective cooperatives. ********
