Second Round Delivery of Special Assistance for Recovery and Alleviation Program Financial Assistance Check Turn-Over

The first implementation of SARAP was in 2022 when Caraga was hit by Typhoon Odettte. For CY 2024, the Cooperative Development Authority- Caraga Regional Office once again implemented the Special Assistance for Recovery and Alleviation Program funded by Sen. Bong Go under his “Malasakit Para sa Kooperatiba” project. The program aims to provide financial assistance to micro cooperatives to recover from the onslaught of pandemic, disaster and other adversities they had encountered and alleviate their plight to continue serving their members.

Last July 2, 2024, 23 cooperatives/project recipients finally received their respective SARAP Financial Assistance held at Bislig Highland Function Farm Hotel, Bislig City. The event was graced by Sen. Bong Go, Philip Salvador and Surigao del Sur Governor Alexander Pimentel.

Out from the 23 cooperatives, six (6) are from PDI, five (5) in SDN, two (2) in SDS, two (2) in ADN, and eight (8) in ADS. (Please see previously posted List of SARAP Beneficiaries). Further, the CDA Assistant Secretary/Engr. Santiago S. Lim-Administrator inspired the participants in his cooperative business ideas. Other participants were CCDO of Tandag- Ms. Lorna Novo, San Francisco, Agusan del Sur Municipal Administrator Lorenzo Lagonia Jr., MCDO & MCDC Chairperson of San Francisco Agusan del Sur – Honorina and Frederico Blanco, CCDO- Almar Autida, Barangay Captains and Bislig City Cooperatives.

In addition, the office also acknowledges the sponsors from SCI MPC in Tandag City and John Vincent C. Pimentel – Chief of Staff of the 2nd Congressional Office of Jhonny Pimentel for the additional snacks of the participants. The program ended with all the smiles and happy heart.
