CDA Caraga Regional Office is one of the eighteen (18) national line agencies who signed the Regional Memorandum of Understanding in the implementation of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) – Enhanced Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty (EPAHP). The essential goal of the agreement is to help mitigate hunger, ensure food and nutrition security and reduce poverty in urban and rural communities, including marginalized communities. It is intended to contribute to the national government’s efforts in addressing hunger and poverty through the synergy and convergence of essential services of the DSWD, DA, DAR, DILG, BJMP, DepEd, DOH, DOST, DTI, TESDA, NIA, POPCOM, DICT, CDA, DA-ATI, DA-BFAR, NNC and Land Bank, and directly benefit the poorer sector of the country.
CDA commits on the promotion, organization and registration of cooperatives among the Community Based Organization (CBOs). RD Honeya Alawi shared that the agency will strongly support the program through active collaboration with cooperatives who also have their mandate on provision of social development activities in their respective communities through their Community Development Fund (CDF). She also emphasized that the success of the program’s implementation is through COOPERATION.
