(Tuguegarao City, Cagayan)- The Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) Region II Extension Office has joined the Global Money Week (GMW) 2022 celebration on March 21-27, 2022.

The GMW aimed to prepare young people, from an early age, to acquire the knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary to make sound financial decisions. It is to make them achieve economic well-being and financial resilience.

This year’s theme, “Build your future, be smart about money.”,  a call to remind us that managing our finances in this time of uncertainty is an issue to consider and how we spend our money determines the quality of our life.

In support of the Global Money Week, CDA Region II Extension Office conducted a webinar on Financial Literacy and Management on March 25, 2022. The resource speaker was Ms. Revelina A. Bassig, Account Officer of Land Bank of the Philippines. She discussed the importance of credit discipline that empowers people with practical skills to manage money wisely.

In his message, CDA Region II Extension Office Regional Director, Atty. Franco G. Bawang Jr. assured the participants that the activity was significant. Director Bawang stated that the webinar aims to empower children and youth to manage their money wisely, save for their future, and earn for themselves and their families. He also encouraged cooperatives to form and organize laboratory cooperatives to promote values and principles of cooperativism and develop financial literacy at the earliest possible age.

Present in the said activity were the officers of CDA and cooperatives in Region 02.
