July 8-10 and July 22, 2025, Cooperatives 2025, the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) Region II Extension Office successfully conducted its “LAKBAY: KOOP Caravan” in the Province of Nueva Vizcaya to assist the cooperatives in the province, directly bringing vital services and support to micro and small cooperatives, reaffirming CDA’s commitment to inclusive cooperative development.
The “LAKBAY: KOOP Caravan” embodies the spirit of the International Year of Cooperatives 2025, themed “Cooperatives Build a Better World.” This global initiative highlights the enduring impact of cooperatives in addressing societal challenges and accelerating progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030. The caravan focused on providing on-site assistance, tackling common problems faced by micro and small cooperatives:
- Streamlined Reporting: Participants received hands-on guidance for the submission of required reports through the Cooperative Assessment Information System (CAIS), ensuring compliance and accurate data collection.
- Facilitated Registration: Proposed cooperatives benefited from direct registration and on-site validation using the Cooperative Registration Information System (CooPRIS).
This initiative was designed to bring essential services and direct support closer to cooperatives that often face difficulties accessing online reporting systems. It serves as a powerful demonstration of a positive, grassroots approach to cooperative development. By extending a direct helping hand, the CDA is not only ensuring regulatory compliance but also fostering more resilient cooperatives.
The activity concluded with positive feedback from participating cooperatives, many of whom received their Certificate of Compliance. This outcome stressed the program’s effectiveness and its direct impact on cooperative operations.
The Authority views this as a commitment to its mission: to bring services closer to cooperatives and to champion the growth of a resilient, empowered, and thriving cooperative movement across the region. #IYC2025#CoopsYear#CoopsBuildABetterWorld
