Programang Pangkooperatiba

 

As part of the 32nd founding anniversary of the Cooperative Development Authority, CDA Region III Extension Office conducted a series of webinar on March 7-9, 2022 entitled “Programang Pangkooperatiba” featuring the different programs of the government to the cooperative sector.

It has been conducted via Zoom Platform shared thru the CDA Region III fan page account. It was participated by 300 individuals via Zoom while reaching out to 900 participants indirectly through FB live. Topics included in the webinar are the programs of DSWD, BFAR, PFDA, TESDA, DBP, and SB-Corporation.

During the first day of the webinar, DSWD programs were discussed, specifically the “Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP)” by Ms. Karissa Joy S. Doria and the “Enhanced Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty (EPAHP)” rendered by Mr. Maynard A. Cezar both from DSWD Field Office III. These programs could be availed of by cooperatives after the completion of the Social Preparation Training (SPT) and undergoing the agency’s accreditation process.

The programs on fisheries and aquaculture was then discussed by the speakers on the second day of the webinar series. Where, BFAR’s technical assistance and programs from capacity building, marketing assistance to specialized projects needed by cooperatives were presented by the Mr. Stephen Arlo C. Lapid, the OIC- Chief Extension Section of BFAR Region 3. In addition to this, the “CDA-PFDA isDa ON THE GO Project”, was also delivered during the session by Ms. Camille An I. Moog, Project Technical Assistant of ​Philippine Fisheries Development Authority (PFDA)​. CDA-PFDA isDa ON THE GO Project is a nationwide project that aims to 1) Provide the consuming public access to fish and fishery products at reasonable prices; 2) Institute market intervention to reduce inflation of fish; and 3. Provide partners with additional income opportunity.

Also, as finale presenter for the day, Ms. Juliette T. Feliciano, OIC–Chief TESD Specialist of ​TESDA Region III​ discussed the different scholarship programs of the agency.

On the third and final session of the webinar series, financing programs of SB- Corporation and Development Bank of the Philippines were the topics tackled. Mr. Jan Dennis C. Cervantes, Accounts Management Analyst II of SBC North Luzon Group​ led the discussion and followed by Ms. Lizel F. Santos-Lapuz, Department Manager III/​Assistant Vice President of DBP.

Clarifications and concerns of cooperatives on the topics discussed were all addressed thru the open forum set at the end of the session facilitated by Mr. Nelson D. Evangelista, the Chief of Cooperative Project Development and Assistance Section of CDA Region III Extension Office.  The activity has been graced by Regional Director Cristina Villamil encouraging cooperatives to take advantage of the programs offered by the different agencies.
