The Alternative Dispute Resolution Training, conducted by the Regional Conciliation and Mediation Branch (RCMB) III in partnership with the Central Luzon Region League of the Philippine Federation of Credit Cooperative (PFCCO) Central Luzon Region League, was held on July 4, 2025 at City of San Fernando, Pampanga.
The event was attended by 58 participants from 17 Cooperatives in Region III. Most of them were members of the Conciliation Mediation Committee (ConMedCom), BOD Members, and Management Staff, of their respective Cooperatives.
Atty. Macy N. Marcelo, Attorney III of CDA Region 3 Extension Office, served as Resource Person for the topic “Conflict Management for Cooperative Mediation Practitioners”. Her topic covers the significance of the Conciliation-Mediation among intra/inter cooperative disputes, the role of ConMedCom on crafting policies for dispute resolution, and the process that must be followed during ConMed proceedings.
Atty. Marcelo also encouraged the participants to apply as one of the CDA’s Accredited Conciliator-Mediators where she briefly discussed the qualifications, training requirements, and documentary requirements to be submitted. Various queries on CDA-related issues and concerns raised during the discussion were addressed Atty. Marcelo.
The program also featured topics such as Occupational Safety and Health, Labor-Management Cooperation, Grievance Machinery, Conciliation-Mediation Process, Conciliation-Mediation Skills and Techniques, and Conflict Resolution Skills.
Overall, it aims to equip participants with the fundamentals and principles of Alternative dispute Resolution (ADR). The Alternative Dispute Resolution Training highlights the RCMB and its partners to the empowerment of the Cooperative’s Management System on handling Employee-related issues. The partnership between the RCMB III, CDA Region III, and the Federation further solidified the training’s objectives to harmonize Cooperative relations in Region III.
