In line with celebration of the International Day of Cooperatives, the CDA Region III Extension Office held an inspiring podcast to showcase the remarkable best practices of two agricultural cooperatives in Central Luzon on July 05, 2025 via Facebook live. The podcast was hosted by Mr. Brian John Mendoza.
Engr. Nolito Vergara, Chairperson, and Engr. Cipriano Vicencio, the Manager of Bagumbayan Primary Multipurpose Cooperative, shared the secret on how they manage to keep an impressive delinquency rate of less than one percent, all without hiring a collector. Their extensive experience showed that loyalty and commitment steadily earn the trust of members, eventually creating a strong and reliable system.
Meanwhile, Ms. Maria Cecilia Baltazar, the manager, and Ms. Rosario Miranda, the Vice Chairperson of Cruzian Multipurpose Cooperative, shared the positive impact of farm mechanization to their cooperative and to the community as a whole.Their innovation has positively affected farmers and improved their lives.
Regional Director Marieta Hwang of CDA Region III Extension Office also joined the podcast and recognized the innovative practices of both cooperatives, honoring the values of caring exemplifying the spirit of bayanihan. Facebook live viewers added depth to the discussion by sharing insightful questions and reflections, making the conversation more interactive where ten engaged commenters chosen as winners.
The podcast was a humble moment that brought to life powerful and impactful insights through real-life stories that reflect the core values of unity and solidarity. Together we thrive in the name of cooperativism.
