The Cooperative Development Authority (CDA), in collaboration with the Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA), successfully conducted consultation meetings for the creation of Small Coconut Farmer Councils in two municipalities of Aurora—Dingalan and Baler.
In Dingalan, Hon. Sherwin H. Taay, Municipal Mayor, Ms. Mina Dicen, LGU-DA Municipal Agriculturist, Mr. Juan F. Milar, Jr., PCA-Aurora Division Chief, and representatives from seven PCA-accredited associations/organizations and one cooperative showed strong support and enthusiasm for the creation of the council. This meeting was held on June 19, 2024, at the MAEDUP Hall, Poblacion, Dingalan, Aurora.
The following day, on June 20, 2024, at Bay View, Sabang, Baler, Aurora, representatives from two associations and one cooperative, together with representatives from the Municipal Agriculturist Office, Municipal Cooperative Development Office, and PCA-Baler, participated in the consultation meeting regarding the council’s creation.
The Small Coconut Farmer Council will serve as a mechanism for collaboration, consultation, and coordination in implementing various projects and policies by all government agencies included under the Coconut Farmers and Industry Development Plan (CFIDP) Program.
