The 2024 Kooplympics Trade Fair opened its doors last week, attracting hundreds of cooperatives and cooperative members across Central Luzon. Held at the Baler Convention Center last October 18, 2024, the event showcased sustainable products, delectable foods, as well as regional craftsmanship.
In partnership with the Regional Cooperative Development Council (RCDC), the Kooplympics Trade Fair featured sixteen (16) cooperative-exhibitors in which six (6) are cooperatives under the Coconut Farmers and Industry Development Plan (CFIDP): Aurora Agri-Ventures Producer’s Cooperative, Ibona Small Coconut Farmers Multipurpose Cooperative, Matawe Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries and Small Coconut Marketing Cooperative (MAREBESMARCO), Umiray Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Multipurpose Cooperative, Gupa RIC Producers Cooperative, and Diarabasin Integrated Farmers Agrarian Reform Cooperative (DIFARCo).
The trade fair officially began with a ribbon cutting ceremony which was led by Regional Director Marieta P. Hwang. She was happy to see that the cooperatives thrived in promoting their respective products – coconut and coconut-related products included – in a bigger platform.
The cooperatives who took part in the said trade fair are also delighted for the support they got from all the visitors who availed their products. Even prior to the programs launch, a few of their featured products sold out. The organizers continues to hope that such activities will not only boost business relationships but also inspire a renewed commitment to sustainability within the coconut industry.
