As part of the government’s ongoing initiative to stimulate economic activity in rural areas and to empower micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), some cooperatives in the region have been granted financial assistance to augment their operational capital and enhance working conditions.
In 2024, the CDA Region III, released funding to 19 micro and small cooperatives, under the government programs, Start-up Livelihood Capital Assistance for Micro – Small CMPL Cooperatives and Malasakit sa Kooperatiba for Micro-Small Cooperative, for a total amount of P3,750,000.00. Pursuant to the provisions of the Memorandum of Agreement, signed by the cooperatives and the Authority, the CDA is mandated to conduct evaluation and monitoring of the projects proposed by the recipient cooperatives.
This is to ensure that government funds are utilized in accordance with their intended purpose, with the overarching objective of fostering economic growth. The CDA together with the Commission on Audit visited the following cooperatives, as the first batch to be monitored namely:
1. Pandan Crafters MPC
2. Bambang MPC
3. Parents and Community of Sta. Ana Pampanga Consumers Cooperative
4. Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino (4Ps) Floridablancans Consumer Cooperative
5. Balsik High School Teachers and Employees MPC
6. SATODA ’92 MPC
7. Bataan Accessories and Garment Producers Cooperative
8. Bataan Embroidery Producers Cooperative
