On January 23, 2024, the Cooperative Development Authority Region III Extension
Office, led by Regional Director Marieta P. Hwang, along with Raul S. Encarnacion, Head of
the Cooperative Project Development Assistance Section (CPDAS), facilitated the turnover
of financial assistance to the three accredited cooperatives namely: Magandang Buhay ng
Samon Agriculture Cooperative, located in Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija; Samahan ng
Magsasaka at Maggugulay Multipurpose Cooperative in Doña Remedios Trinidad, Bulacan;
and the Bambang Multipurpose Cooperative in Candaba, Pampanga.

The financial assistance was provided by CDA Region III EO through the Financial
Assistance / Grant to Cooperatives Affected by Calamities and Disasters, as outlined in CDA
Memorandum Circular 2022-05 titled “Guidelines in the release of Financial
Assistance/ Grant to Micro Cooperatives affected by Calamities and Disasters” to which the
aforementioned beneficiaries were affected by typhoons Paeng and Egay in 2022. Each of
the three cooperatives received 50,000.00 pesos, which will be used to restore their losses
caused by the typhoon and provide additional capital to their cooperatives.
