𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊: In line with the celebration of International Day of Cooperatives on July 6, 2024, the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA), in collaboration with the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) and Globe Business, organized a series of activities to commemorate this significant occasion.
The theme for International Cooperative Day 2024, ‘Cooperatives Building a Better Future for All’, underscores the pivotal role of cooperatives in fostering inclusive growth and sustainable development. This year’s celebration highlighted the contributions of cooperatives worldwide, providing a platform for sharing experiences, showcasing achievements, and promoting the cooperative model as a cornerstone of a sustainable future.
In Central Luzon, the celebration commenced with a “Webinar on Digital Marketing Strategies for Cooperatives and Digital Financial Literacy,” which saw the participation of over 200 cooperative leaders and members from the region. The event was inaugurated by Ms. Marieta P. Hwang, Regional Director of CDA Region III, who welcomed the attendees and elucidated the rationale behind the online initiative. This was followed by an insightful discussion on digital financial literacy led by Ms. Ma. Lourdes I. Laconsay, Bank Officer IV of the BSP. Subsequently, Mr. Jose Rafael Del Rosario from AdSpark delivered an engaging presentation on digital marketing strategies tailored for cooperatives. The webinar concluded with a heartfelt closing message from Ms. Carolina M. Miguel, Supervising CDS of CDA Region III.
The celebration continued in the afternoon with an in-person seminar titled “Business Conversation M360 and Cybersecurity: Infrastructure and Improve Client Trust with Cybersecurity Solutions” held at the Marriott Hotel in Clark field, Pampanga, attended by selected large cooperatives in the region. The seminar commenced with a welcome address by Regional Director Marieta P. Hwang, followed by a comprehensive discussion on “Republic Act 11765: Financial Products and Services Consumer Protection Act” by Ms. Ma. Lourdes I. Laconsay. The discussion on “Secure IT Infrastructure and Improve Client Trust with Cybersecurity Solutions” started by Mr. Mark Agustin, Customer Relationship Manager of North and Central Luzon / CAMANAVA of Globe Business.
Ms. Mara Manahan, Business Consultant for Productivity and Applications of Globe Business continued the discussion, highlighting the concept of Seamless Apps, Seamless Business and the M360 platform. The seminar continued on a high note with a community dance, initiated by Mr. Brian John C. Mendoza, CDS II from CDA Region III, fostering a spirit of unity and collaboration among participants. Afterwards, an in-depth exploration on “Securing Enterprise Digital Transformation with Globe Business Security Solutions” initiated by Mr. Joseph Tan, Consultant from Globe Philippines. The seminar concluded with the question and answer segment.
