March 18, 2024 || National Launching of Global Money Week Celebration

On March 18, the Cooperative Development Authority, spearheaded by the Head Office, commenced the National Launching of Global Money Week Celebration. During the kick-off ceremony, the CDA’s participation in Global Money Week from 2018 to 2023 was highlighted, showcasing various activities across regions.
Noteworthy messages were delivered by esteemed figures including the board of directors, Asec Luz H. Yrinco, Asec Virgilio R. Lazaga, Admin Santiago S. Lim, and Usec Joseph B. Encabo, emphasizing the significance of financial literacy and empowerment. Atty. Ma. Lourdes Pacao, Deputy Administrator for Credit Surety Fund Service, outlined the ways forward, expressing the Head Office’s intent to institutionalize annual participation in the Global Money Week Celebration. Ms. Marieta P. Hwang, Regional Director of CDA Region III Extension Office, presented the line-up of activities for the week-long celebration, including those to be conducted by other regions. Mr. Emmanuel Anthony B. Rosana, from Region III, formerly the chairperson of a St. Francis Laboratory Cooperative and now a board member of the Parish of St. Francis of Assisi Meycauayan Credit and Development Cooperative (PSFAMCDC), delivered an inspirational speech during the launch.
Additionally, we are delighted to announce that the Abucay Laboratory Cooperative of AMPC from Abucay, Bataan, won in Category 1 (1-500 members) for having the highest number of cooperative members. Another highlights of the program is the handover of Certificate of Recognition to the Angelican School of Marilao Inc. Laboratory Cooperative with their guardian coop, San Miguel de Marilao Multipurpose Cooperative.
In the afternoon, the CDA Region 3 Extension Office orchestrated a dynamic Webinar on Financial Literacy, a pivotal event in our pursuit of economic education. We were honored to have Dr. May B. Eclar, the esteemed Regional Director of DepEd Regional Office III, Grace us with her insightful message, setting an inspirational tone for the proceedings. The webinar delved into three crucial pillars of financial literacy, with expertise from distinguished speakers representing the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas – North Luzon Regional Office.
Ms. Ma. Lourdes I. Laconsay illuminated the audience with her comprehensive exploration of the Three Pillars of Central Banking, offering invaluable insights into the foundational principles governing our financial systems. Following this, Mr. Dennis Gundran captivated our attention with his expertise on Digital Financial Literacy and Cyber Hygiene, shedding light on the knowledge required to navigate the digital landscape securely and responsibly.
