Byaheng Kooperatiba: Bringing CDA Services Closer to Cooperatives in Laguna and Quezon

The Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) Region IV-A Extension Office once again conducted its Byaheng Kooperatiba, a hands-on outreach program designed to deliver essential services directly to cooperatives across Laguna on October 8, 2024 at the ICOPED Auditorium, College of Economics and Management Bldg., UPLB, Los Baños, Laguna, and Quezon on October 10-11, 2024 at St. Jude Coop Hotel and Event Center, Brgy. Isabang, Tayabs City. This initiative brings the CDA’s compliance support right to local cooperatives, ensuring easier access to guidance on regulatory requirements, governance improvements, and sustainability practices.

The caravan provides one-on-one assistance to cooperatives, addressing specific needs and challenges related to regulatory adherence. CDA officers offer cooperatives the opportunity to complete necessary documentation, access technical advisory support, and clarify legal obligations to maintain compliance.

As the caravan progressed through Laguna and Quezon, CDA CALABARZON is also gathering valuable insights into local cooperative operations, strengthening relationships, and identifying areas where CDA can enhance its services. This community-centered approach empowers cooperatives to optimize their impact within their respective communities, contributing to broader economic growth and social equity.

Forty-eight (48) cooperatives were assisted and twenty (20) Certificates of Compliance (COC) were issued during the Laguna caravan.  Moreover, eighty (80) cooperatives were assisted and forty-one (41) Certificates of Compliance (COC) were released during the Quezon activity. In total, the Byaheng Kooperatiba Caravan was able to assist a total of one hundred twenty-eight (128) cooperatives and released a total of sixty-one (61) Certificates of Compliance (COC). Furthermore, twenty-one (21) cooperatives with registration concerns, eighteen (18) cooperatives with legal/amnesty concerns, and a hundred (100) cooperatives with compliance concerns were assisted for both of the activities.

Through the Byaheng Kooperatiba Caravan, CDA Region IV-A Extension Office reaffirms its commitment to building cooperative communities that are well-equipped to meet their regulatory obligations, strengthen governance, and engage in sustainable practices. This proactive engagement model is part of CDA’s mission to support the growth and resilience of the cooperative movement throughout CALABARZON.
