A Hands-on Bookkeeping Seminar for the Agriculture Cluster of Cooperatives was conducted on June 17-18, 2021 at the Municipal Auditorium, Sta. Cruz, Laguna. This program was initiated by ASec. Virgilio “Boy” Lazaga, the CDA Board of Director heading the Agriculture Cluster. The activity targeted three (3) Small Koop Kapatid beneficiaries identified by the Big Koop Kapatid Caliraya-Botocan-Kalayaan MPC plus eighteen(18)o ther micro agriculture cooperatives, together with one(1) medium cooperative from the 3rd and 4th District of Laguna.
As a form of CBK MPC’s assistance and commitment to its Small Kapatid as stated in the Memorandum of Agreement mutually signed by them, this gathering was put through. Among the beneficiaries of this program that identified as CBK MPCs Small Kapatid were the Sta. Cruz-Calamba 44 TSMPC, Patimbao-Palasan Farmers Marketing Coop, and Samahang Magbubukid Angat Pangkabuhayan MPC.
This seminar was facilitated by the Cooperative Development Specialists assigned in the mentioned areas by inviting micro agriculture cooperatives and persuading Mr. Alvin Esguerra, an accredited CPA of the CDA as the resource speaker. Mr. Esguerra delivered his best effort to impart his knowledge and skills to all attendees.
On the last day of the event, the participants were inspired by Asec. Boy Lazaga, Director Salvador V. Valeroso, and Mr. Victorino Relucano, the Municipal Agriculturist of Sta. Cruz in behalf of the Municipal Mayor. This activity has also been coordinated with Sta. Cruz MCDC, headed by its Chairperson Ms. Aldea A. Roguel.
On the other hand, the workshop helped out participants to install their books of accounts and prepare Financial Statements for CDA submission. “Marami kaming natutuhan na magagamit naming talaga sa aming Kooperatiba” (We really learned a lot that will benefit our cooperatives) said by Ms. Elda Madriaga in her impression’s speech.
