Boac, Marinduque – In a momentous event held on June 21, 2023, the Integrated Coconut Processing Center for White Copra and RBD Oil was unveiled as part of the Coconut Farmers and Industry Development Plan (CFIDP) spearheaded by the Philippine Center for Postharvest Development and Mechanization (PhilMech). The ceremony brought together of honored guests, including key figures such as Philippine Coconut Authority Administrator Bernie F. Cruz, Dir. Dionisio G. Alvindia of PhilMech, Governor Presbitero J. Velasco Jr., Vice Governor Adeline M. Angeles, and various implementing agencies of CFIDP. Among the participants was the Cooperative Development Authority, represented by Cristian B. De Ade, Cooperatives Development Specialist II, Marinduque Field Office.
The event commenced with the unveiling of the Plan Perspective, offering a glimpse into the cutting-edge facilities and technologies that will revolutionize coconut processing in Marinduque. The vision of a fully integrated coconut processing center promises increased efficiency and productivity, while maximizing the potential of this valuable agricultural resource.
A ceremonial digging was followed, symbolizing the start of construction of Integrated Coconut Processing Center for White Copra and RBD Oil . This milestone represents a significant step forward for the local coconut industry, which will ultimately boost the livelihoods of coconut farmers and uplift the economy of the entire province.
Furthermore, Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) was signed between the Provincial Government of Marinduque and PhilMech. This MOA signifies a solid partnership, underscoring the collective determination to ensure the success of the Coconut Farmers and Industry Development Plan and its integrated processing center. The collaboration between the local government and PhilMech sets a strong foundation for the sustainable growth and prosperity of the coconut industry in Marinduque.
Lastly, a moment of unity occurred during the signing of the Pledge of Commitment by all implementing agencies. This gesture reinforces their shared vision and determination to support the CFIDP’s objectives, ensuring the implementation of effective strategies and initiatives that will enhance the competitiveness and resilience of Marinduque’s coconut industry.
