Harvesting Innovation: Launching the Digital 2-n-1 Corn and Rice Mill Revolution (Program Orientation, Demonstration, and MOA Signing for Digital 2-n-1 Corn and Rice Mill)

On September 23, 2024, a significant event took place at the 3rd Floor BOCOFAMCO Bldg., Calapan City, focusing on the orientation, demonstration, and awarding of the Digital 2-n-1 Corn and Rice Mill combined machineries, complete with a generator set. This program aimed to enhance agricultural productivity and empower local farmers through innovative technology.

The day began with participant registration at 8:00 AM, drawing a diverse group of local farmers, cooperative representatives, and government officials. By 9:00 AM, the program officially commenced with a series of inspiring speeches.

Alberto A. Sabarias, Regional Director, welcomed attendees and emphasized the initiative’s importance in modernizing agriculture. Following him, Jefhtee R. Panganiban, Senior Cooperative Development Specialist, provided insights into the program’s goals, highlighting how the new machinery would significantly improve farming efficiency.

Messages from key figures included Asec. Virgilio R. Lazaga, MD, who spoke about the government’s commitment to agricultural development, and Asec. Pendatun B. Disimban, which was represented by Mr. Alberto Disamburun, who reinforced the value of collaboration among stakeholders.
The highlight of the morning was the ceremonial signing of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) at 11:00 AM, officially establishing partnerships for the program’s implementation. This moment marked a pivotal step toward enhancing agricultural practices in the region.

After a break for lunch, the afternoon session featured a hands-on demonstration of the Digital 2-n-1 Corn and Rice Mill. Participants had the opportunity to see the machinery in action, followed by practical testing. The enthusiasm in the room was palpable, with many expressing eagerness to integrate this technology into their farming operations.

Atty. Richard E. Ilagan, Acting Supervising CDS/Legal Officer, closed the event with remarks that highlighted the transformative potential of agricultural technology. The program was expertly emceed by Eva Loraine R. Cataje, ensuring a smooth and engaging experience for all participants.
