In line with the celebration of the cooperative month, an annual coop tree planting was held last October 28, 2023 at 7:00AM within the property of Ligao City Water District (LCWD) in Basag, Ligao City, Albay which was initiated by City Cooperative Development Office (CCDO) headed by Ms. Ruth A. Roperes in coordination with CENRO and LCWD. Eight (8) cooperatives from the city composing of 23 males and 31 females participated with personnel of CCDO, CENRO and LCWD. These coops are LACE Multi-Purpose Cooperative, Ligao Utility Vehicle Express Transport Service Cooperative (LUVETSC), Guilid Farmers Agriculture Cooperative (GFAC), Binatagan Farmers Agriculture Cooperative (BFAC), Ligao City Teachers and Employees Credit Cooperative (LCTECC), LNHS Teachers and Employees MPC, San Isidro Development Cooperative (SIDECO) and Bicol Seeds Growers Multipurpose Cooperative.
This area is adopted as regular planting site of cooperatives in Ligao City and will always be part of their coop month celebration contributing on saving Mother Earth. The cooperators and personnel were able to plant 400 trees which are 125 Amugis, 125 Narra, 125 Kalumpit and 25 Molave seedlings. Indeed, the 7th principle of cooperative which is concern for community was felt as the coops initiated this activity that is a great way to combat global warming and climate change.
