Legazpi City, Albay – In recognition for the active collaboration to the DSWD’s Enhanced Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty (EPAHP), CDA Region 5 receives a Vulcan Award as the best partner for beneficiary empowerment for its contribution to the achievement of the Department’s endeavor in providing social welfare and development services to the vulnerable sectors. The award is given as a token of appreciation and is conferred today, February 23, 2024, at the Proxy Hotel, during the Culminating Activity of the 73rd Founding Anniversary of DSWD Field Office 5.Present during the occasion are the key officers of DSWD FO 5 headed by its Regional Director, Dir. Norman S. Laurio; Assistant Regional Director for Operations, Dir. Melchor L. Sañano, and Assistant Regional Director for Administration, Dir. Raul A. Enojas.
Acting Regional Director of CDA Region 5, Atty. Emilio D. Escueta III has personally received the award, together with other awardees from the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), Department of Agriculture, and National Irrigation Administration (NIA).
CDA’s strong support and collaboration with DSWD is crucial in addressing critical concerns on hunger mitigation, food and nutrition security, and poverty reduction through the empowerment of the cooperative sector as potential food supplier to the supplementary feeding program and Food Stamp Program of the Department. CDA also supports the empowerment and registration of Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) and Sustainable Livelihood Program Associations (SLPAs) into cooperatives.
The recognition not only celebrates past achievements but also highlights the ongoing collaboration needed to address social challenges effectively. Congratulations to CDA Region 5 and other government agencies for the well-deserved Vulcan Award.
