Baao, Camarines Sur – The Local Government Unit of Baao adheres to its commitment in promoting and supporting the development of cooperatives in the municipality. It recognizes the vital role of cooperatives as a vehicle in fostering economic growth and uplifting the lives of its members, particularly the Baaoeños. On April 3, 2024, during the MCDC meeting, Honorable Mayor Jeffrey S. Besinio, announced that the LGU will be providing a Php300,000.00 financial assistance to each and every operating micro and small cooperative in the municipality. Previously, it had awarded one of the cooperatives an astounding Php500,000.00, the Federation of Baao Women (FBW) Multi-Purpose Cooperative which significantly contributed to the development of the said all-women cooperative.

The order of recipient-beneficiaries was selected through drawing lots which resulted to the following:

Recipient of Php300,000 each and their corresponding year :

2024 – Baao Organic  Agriculture Cooperative

2025 – Iriga-Naga Jeepney Operators Drivers (INAPJOD) Transport Service Cooperative

2025 – San Vicente Baao Tricycle Operators and Drivers Transport Cooperative (SVBTODTC)

2025 – Agdangan Tagongtong Farmers Multi-Purpose Cooperative

2026 – Baao Transport Service Cooperative

2026 – Barlin Farmers Irrigators Agriculture Cooperative (BAFIACO)

Mayor Besinio also added that the financial grant may increase for the succeeding years depending on the needs of the cooperative-beneficiaries and the LGU’s budget. This endeavor was made possible through the unity and efforts of the members of Baao Municipal Cooperative Development Council which was recognized by the Cooperative Development Authority in 2023. TRULY, ALL EFFORTS AND SACRIFICES WILL EVENTUALLY BEAR FRUIT WITH CONSTANT EAGERNESS AND COOPERATION.
