Daet, Camarines Norte – The Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) Region V, in partnership with the Camarines Norte State College (CNSC), successfully conducted the Training of Trainers (ToT) for Accredited Training Providers and Prospective Trainers from August 6 to 8, 2024. This significant event marked a pivotal moment in the cooperative sector, fostering stronger collaboration between academic institutions, government agencies, and cooperative organizations. Held in consumption of the Memorandum of Agreement between CDA and CNSC, the event was expertly managed by the Camarines Norte Federation of Cooperatives, ensuring the seamless coordination of activities and engagement of participants.
The ToT program attracted a diverse group of 37 cooperative trainers and leaders, along with Cooperative Development Officers from various provinces in the Bicol Region, including Camarines Norte (19), Albay (1), Camarines Sur (11), Sorsogon (1), and Masbate (5). This broad representation underscores the commitment of the Bicol cooperative community to enhancing the skills and knowledge of its members, ensuring the sustained growth and development of cooperatives across the region.
Atty. Emilio D. Escueta III, the Regional Director of CDA Region V Extension Office, and Dr. Marlo De La Cruz, the President of Camarines Norte State College, both graced the event with their presence. In their separate addresses, they emphasized the vital role of trainers in disseminating the value and importance of cooperatives within their communities. Their inspiring words reinforced the significance of the ToT program in equipping future trainers with the necessary tools to educate and empower cooperative members.
Throughout the three-day training, participants engaged in a comprehensive curriculum designed to enhance their capabilities as effective trainers. The program covered various topics, including cooperative governance, leadership development, and community engagement strategies. The interactive sessions and hands-on activities provided participants with practical insights and techniques that they can apply in their respective organizations.
The successful completion of this ToT program marks a significant step forward for the cooperative movement in the Bicol Region. As these newly trained individuals return to their communities, they are expected to play a crucial role in promoting the cooperative spirit, fostering collaboration, and driving economic development.
The CDA and CNSC partnership, along with the active participation of the Camarines Norte Federation of Cooperatives, exemplifies the power of collaboration in achieving common goals.
