Cooperatives nowadays, play an indispensable role in socio – economic and environmental development of the country, especially in times of crisis.
Presently, we are facing an alarming global health crisis brought about by the outbreak of Corona Virus Disease (COVID – 19) and characterized as pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO) on March 11, 2020, caused panic and anxiety to the people.
President Rodrigo ROA Duterte declared a State of Public Health Emergency and Locked/Enhanced Community Quarantine, wherein Local Government Units did the same at all levels to immediately prevent the spread of the disease and other harms.
Such declarations ignited the spirit of cooperativism, gave life to the universal philosophy and principle of “People helping People”, “Cooperation among cooperatives”, respectively.
