1ST COOPERATIVE MANAGED TRANSPORT SERVICE COMPLIANT WITH PUBLIC UTILITY VEHICLE MODERNIZATION (PUVM) PROGRAM RECEIVED THEIR THREE (3) CONSOLIDATED ROUTES FRANCHISES

Founded in 1999, Allen Municipal Officials, Employees and Community Multipurpose Cooperative (AMOEC MPC) services the Credit needs and is into Member’s Savings Operation (MSO) in the towns of 1st District of Northern Samar.  It has also expanded it business activities to include operation of Gas Station in 2015.

December 8, 2020, AMOEC MPC’s Transport, a Public Utility Jeepneys business, is the 1st Cooperative Managed Public Utility Vehicle Modernization (PUVM) Program Compliant in Eastern Visayas marked another momentous day for the cooperative.

In a Grand Launching of the AMOEC Transport Service, Regional Director Gualberto N. Gualberto of the Land Transport Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) Region VIII awarded the Certificate of Public Convenience (CPC) and Special Permit for the three consolidated jeepney routes, namely: Allen to Catarman Route & vice versa, Allen to Calbayog route & vice versa, and the San Jose to Catarman route & vice versa at St. James the Greater Plaza, Allen, Northern Samar.

Earlier in Dir. Gualberto’s message, he emphasized the vision of President Rodrigo Roa Durterte PUVM Program. Notably, the reform of the transport industry, modernized PUV fleet, improve the welfare of commuters safety, improved standard of living of drivers, operators, and their families, and mitigation of carbon emission in the environment.

Mr. Cipriano G. Gardoque, Chairperson of AMOEC Board of Directors and on behalf of the Board Directors, expressed their heartfelt thanks. He also shared the achievement with the Management and Staff, and the over 6,000 members, the milestone reached by the cooperative. Forty-five (45) fleets representing the Operators/Drivers of the now consolidated franchise will cover the respective franchise routes

Ms. Venus M. Jornales, Acting Regional Director of the Cooperative Development Authority Region 8, graced the event. She delivered a congratulatory and inspiring message which centered on perpetually adhering to good governance and transparency practices and ensuring continuity to the next policy and decision-makers. Further, she challenged the commitment and dedication of officers and management diligence in its fiduciary responsibility since the new business is a complex one. Highlighted in her speech is the guidance of National Government Agencies (NGAs) and Landbank of the Philippines (LBP) financing the venture, collaboration for the realization of new business endeavor. Moreover, Director Jornales underscored the multiplier effect of the transport enterprise on the Economic and Social benefits such as employment aspects and flourishing businesses.
