A series of workshops on the use of the Cooperative Assessment Information System (CAIS) and orientation on the CDA Mandatory Reports successfully carried out on November 15, 22, and 29, 2023, at the 3rd Floor, Conference Hall of the CDA Region Office VIII Building, Tacloban City.

The Supervision and Examination Section (SES) was at the forefront of these activities to fifty-three (53) participating representatives from the different cooperatives in the region. Since the roll out of CAIS in 2022, the CDA RO8 has been conducting a series of workshops on this online system for the submission of the CDA Annual Mandatory Reports every year to reach out to the cooperatives across the region. The SES, has always been aiming to bring to light the importance of the careful preparation and tractable submission of these reports in conformance to fulfilling the official requirements for the issuance of Certificate of Compliance (COC).

The series of this particular activity equally transpired successfully as the attendees, who were usually the Compliance Officers, Managers, and Chairpersons representing their cooperatives, as well as the Cooperatives Development Officers (CDO) of some of the municipalities in the region, were pleased and satisfied for participating as they were proffered with guidance and knowledge on the system.

“We now clearly know how to use the CAIS, and we were able to submit our reports for the CY2022. Thanks to CDA, as always, for helping us out!”, says one of the cooperative representatives present during the workshop. There were also Cooperative representatives that were registered just this year, 2023, who gladly attended the activity as they were hopeful to be ready for their first submission of mandatory reports next year. They successfully created their respective CAIS account during the workshop, and familiarized themselves with the reports.

Meanwhile, those Non-compliant cooperatives present during the workshops clearly showed resilience and perseverance to comply with the mandatory reports they have yet to submit. They became thoroughly acquainted with the legal bases and importance of the annual submission of the CDA mandatory reports.
