Baybay City Convention Center on April 26, 2022 is filled with support from the various national government agencies providing their respective programs and services. The Cooperative Development Authority headed by its Acting Regional Director Venus M. Jornales participates and converges together with other NGAs and cooperatives in the Duterte Legacy Caravan with the theme “Pagkakaisa ng Mamamayan at Pamahalaan Tungo sa Pagbangon, Kapayapaan at Kaunlaran, said caravan is led by the Department of Interior and Local Government Region VIII thru the Police Regional Office VIII. CDA shared information materials showcasing its programs, services, partnership with other NGAs, and accomplishments to the participants who are victims of Typhoon Agaton in Baybay City, Leyte, and Abuyog, Leyte. Mr. Rowan L. Delos Santos, the Sr. Cooperative Development Specialist of CPDAS discussed and elaborated on the CDAs mandate through its ongoing developmental efforts which the public may acquire and benefit from.
The Caravan aims to inform the public about the government’s programs, policies and accomplishments, and efforts to bring about the real change in the lives of the Filipino people by showcasing real stories from the beneficiaries in their respective localities. Hence, collaborated with cooperatives in Region CDA the VIII to participate in the caravan to help and provide assistance to the victims of Typhoon Agaton.
CDA’s assistance is 250, 5 liters of mineral water, 125pcs of bucket pail, dipper with towel; Perpetual Help Multipurpose Cooperative (PHCCI MPC Taclo ban) 200 basin of relief packs (canned goods, plates, glasses, rice, and noodles); Omaganhan Farmers Agrarian Reform Cooperative (OFMPC) 200 pcs (bucket pail, dipper, frying pan, ladle); Metro Ormoc Community Multipurpose Cooperative (OCCCI) 100 pcs hygiene kits; Leyte Geothermal Employees Cooperative (LGECC KASAMMAVA Farmer Agriculture CooperativeMPC) and Irrigators 50pcs set of kitchen utensils; Leyeco V Employees Multipurpose Cooperative (LEVEMCO) 100 pcs food packs and 1000pcs 500ml mineral water.
Also participating in the caravan is Baybay Dairy Cooperative (BDC), Sto. Niño de Plaridel Multipurpose Cooperative (SNPMPC) by marketing and selling their products thru the mini trade fair which was provided by the organizing committee.
