The Cooperative Development Authority celebrated its 35th anniversary, commemorating its ongoing fulfillment of its constitutional and statutory mandates in serving the cooperative sector, the public and the entire country last March 10, 2024 at Philippine International Convention Center (PICC). The celebration also gave recognition to the hardworking men and women of CDA, the implementing engine of CDA’s projects, programs and activities to be able to serve the cooperative sector to enable them to be the agents of attaining social justice, equity and economic development so the country will achieve progress. The event also included the Program on Awards and Incentives for Service Excellence (PRAISE) awarding to deserving CDA personnel.
The CDA has instituted its Program on Awards and Incentives for Service Excellence (PRAISE) to recognize service excellence and innovation of its employees. The employee’s performance of their functions characterized by excellence, passion, innovativeness and continuous education are given due recognition through PRAISE. PRAISE acknowledges the hard work and outstanding contributions of its employees in the development and promotion of the cooperative sector in the country.
CDA Region 8 Extension Office had two personnel who garnered awards from two categories, namely Atty. Jasper M. Carias J.D., Attorney III for the Professional Development Award Category, and CDS II Veryan L. Artates for the Outstanding Cooperatives Development Specialist II Category. The Professional Development Award Category is a PRAISE category which awards CDA personnel who were able to finish graduate schooling or passes the licensure/board examinations and bar examinations without taking a leave of absence or having the CDA provide a scholarship grant to the awardee. Atty. Carias was conferred said award for finishing his Graduate Certificate in ASEAN Studies (GCAS), from the University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) while being a full time CDA employee and not taking a leave of absence during the duration of his studies.

CDS II Artates meanwhile garnered the award for the Outstanding Cooperatives Development Specialist II Category for introducing ICT based innovations for use of the CDA Region 8 Extension Office, with the aim of making tracking of activities, projects, and accomplishments easier for review and analysis. Her ICT based innovation on creating multimedia presentations enabled the office to interactive multimedia tools to produce high quality outputs on graphic designs, presentation and the theme song for the Coop Month celebration.
May these awardees inspire more CDA Region 8 personnel to do more above and beyond the call of duty to serve the cooperative sector and the public, and secure more meaningful engagements with the cooperative sector to promote cooperativism and progress.
